Children are pelting Nasruddin with stones. He says, "Stop! I'll tell you something useful." He says mayor in the next village is giving a feast. He provides convincing details; the children go running off. Nasruddin wonders it might really be true, and he goes running off with them.
Notes: In Persian version reported by Kelsey, Nasruddin is frustrated standing in line at the bakery so he says a rich man in town is giving away bread. Then he imagines to himself that it might be true, so he goes there with the rest of the bread-seekers.
