Akbar asks Birbal how many bangles his wife wears on her hand. "I don't know," says Birbal. "You see her every day!" replies Akbar. Birbal says, "Let's go to the garden." As they go down steps, he asks, "How many steps? You use this staircase every day!" Of course Akbar does not know how many steps, and so Birbal has made his point.
