Birbal: Servant Gulshan brings bad luck. He happens to be there when Akbar calls for slippers. Day begins with sick grandson, impatient ambassador, a revolt, a stomach cramp. Akbar decides Gulshan must die. Birbal interrogates and discovers that sight of Akbar's face was even more inauspicious: a sign of death for Gulshan!
Nasruddin: King sees Nasruddin on way to hunt; to avoid ill omened-face, he has him whipped out of way. Hunt goes well; Nasruddin explains that his face must have been good luck to king, but king's face was ill luck to him.
