Tamerlane is dispensing punishments: 500 lashes! 1200! 1500! Nasruddin asks Tamerlane if he knows everything. Tamerlane says he does. Nasruddin disagrees: you either don't know the meaning of 1500 or you don't know the sting of the whip.
