T0237. Climbing to the Sky on a Rope

Sufi wants to test Nasruddin. He points at sky, meaning one truth covers all. Nasruddin's friend thinks Sufi is mad. Nasruddin offers friend a rope. "Good; we can bind the madman," says his friend. But Sufi understands Nasruddin to say: ordinary people seek truth in ways as absurd as climbing to the sky on a rope.
